Three athletes at Coral Shores broke the school record in track and field this year.

Junior Halley Lane broke the record for shot-put in her first year participating in track and field. Her record representing the school was 24 feet and 9 inches.

“I was really proud of myself because the field athletes don’t get all the glory and the runners are more celebrated,” Lane said.

Sophomore Lily Costa broke two school records, one in pole vault and the other in triple jump.

Coach James looks to push his track athletes to an even better and more successful season than last year.

“I am excited for the next season because of the athletes we have on our roster and our work ethic is great and we have time to build,” James said.

This summer, Coach James will be doing speed workouts for all athletes that want to chase their collegiate dreams and also workouts with the football team providing an opportunity for  kids to reach their full potential.
