Though prom is on Saturday, May 19, which is one day away,  a weather forecast of 100% chance of rain has forced the annual dance to be relocated to the Islander Resort in Islamorada.

Despite the last minute change, the Islander has generously offered the Historic building, free of charge.

“It was going to be amazing before, but [it] will honestly be better now,”  Junior Class Sponsor Ms. Anderson said. “At Cheeca we would’ve been under a tent, but the tent had no air conditioning.”

The junior class would like to thank Alexis Alba and the Cheeca Lodge for their help and their offer, even though prom will no longer be held at Cheeca.

The juniors would also like to thank Scott Simmons, the general manager at the new prom location, the Islander.

In addition, the junior class would like to give a special shoutout to Mike Forster and junior Avery Caceres’ dad for helping with all aspects of prom.
